Nick Potter Paintings

‘They [the paintings] are like the opening scenes in Hollywood disaster movies: On the surface, everything is calm. Nice furniture, neat, polished floors. Like the catalogue, like the dream. But there’s a vibration beneath the surface. There’s a mask emerging from the wall. Humidity, memory. The sense of something more, the way we know there’s life beyond the image of the world prescribed by television but we can’t quite find it.’ (1)
